It’s happening! I am extremely fortunate and excited to share that I have been selected to run the 130th Boston Marathon on behalf of a charity and will be hitting the streets of Boston to throw down a 42.2km run that will complete my World Major Marathon journey! After running a marathon doing loops of my neighborhood during Covid, I decided to take on the challenge of running the six World Major Marathons. It started by getting into Chicago in 2023, followed by Berlin and New York in 2024, earlier this year I completed London, up next in March I will be running Tokyo and ending the journey with the biggest, most prestigious marathon there is in Boston April 20th.

Completing these marathons has been a haul… balancing summer training, winter training with all life ups and down has been a challenge but I have been lucky enough to run them all with a very close friend. Not only will we be receiving the Boston medal at the end of the race, but we will be receiving the Six Star Finisher medal. There are only approximately 500 women in Canada who have completed running all six of these marathons and I can’t wait to add my name to that list!

So who am I running for? I was accepted by The Light Foundation. They help young adults develop skills, values, and a mindset that lead to productive, meaningful futures. They take youth out of their everyday settings and provide them outdoor, hands-on learning experiences to build leadership, responsibility and confidence. The charity is run by Matt Light – a three-time Super Bowl Champion and former New England Patriot offensive tackle.
