Dear Friends and Family,

Our dear friend and loved one, Melissa Nyseth, needs our help as she continues her ongoing battle with cancer. In June of 2020 Melissa was diagnosed with Stage 3 cervical cancer. Her treatment appeared to be successful and at the beginning of the year her cervical cancer was in remission but then she received the devastating news that the cancer had metastasized in her liver and was growing at a rapid pace. Melissa has endured more pain and suffering than anyone should ever have to. She’s stoic but the long road with cancer is making her weary. It hurts me to see such a beautiful person inside and out experience so much tragedy. She’s withstood two rounds of chemo, multiple rounds of radiation including internal radiation and several surgeries. The radiation caused a fistula to be placed in her bladder causing incontinence. Melissa was released yesterday from Tacoma General Hospital from an infection from the fistula. Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for her to experience these infections monthly. The chemo and radiation also resulted in Melissa having urinary retention where nephrostomy tubes were required to empty the kidneys. This is something that she will have for the rest of her life.

Due to excessive medical bills and Melissa’s inability to work she has drained her checking and savings accounts and has run out of resources to survive. For her to afford housing and food and focus on her recovery she needs our help.

Despite all the challenges Melissa has encountered she is still a strong, bad ass young woman with a lot of life to live. Her current treatment is immuno-therapy. Melissa is currently researching new treatment for liver reduction (liver regenerates itself)

This treatment has caused a huge financial hardship for Melissa. Melissa has depleted all the money in her checking and savings and is now in need of our help.
