Hello, and thank you for taking a moment to read our story. I have initiated this GoFundMe because my daughter, Melissa, who lives in Colorado, is in need of major knee surgery. Although Melissa really loves hiking and playing soccer, her passion is her career, working with small children in a program that keeps them fit and active. It is because of this that we are reaching out. Unfortunately, Melissa does not have the insurance coverage necessary to pay for a $10,000 surgery that will involve repairing her ACL, MCL, and meniscus. This type of surgery is necessary for her to continue even being able to function in life. She’s completely on her own in Colorado, struggling to maintain her job, and she must have this surgery soon. Unfortunately, her dad and I are not in a financial position to support this surgery. So we find ourselves reaching out to ask anyone who might have a little extra to help us with an account so Melissa can have this surgery. It’s an awkward situation to be in for sure. We’ve never asked for this kind of help. But when your kid needs you, you do anything. So at the suggestion of others, I am asking if you have any amount you’re able to donate, it will help Melissa get the surgery she needs to continue her work with kids.

If you knew our sweet Melissa, you would know that she is always there for other people. Now that the tables are turned, I’m hoping people can be there for her. Any money collected will be used to cover her surgery and other related medical expenses.
