It is with love and cherished memories that we honour the life of Melissa “Missy” Grimshaw, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 48.

Melissa was a bright light to everyone who knew her. Her infectious smile, enormous heart, and unwavering care for those she loved brought joy and warmth to family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. She was known for her love of family, her laughter, and the way she made everyone feel special and seen.

Melissa faced life’s challenges with resilience and determination, and her deep love for her daughter, Dreah, and her grandchildren, CJ and Zain, was always at the heart of everything she did. She dreamed of being a present, hands-on “Mimi” and giving them all the care and joy she wished she could, even though life did not allow her as much time with them as she hoped.

Following Melissa’s passing, Dreah has faced unexpected expenses related to her mother’s cremation and arrangements. In the coming months, our family plans to hold a celebration of life in honor of Melissa, closer to her birthday in the spring, to honor her memory in a meaningful way. This fundraiser will help provide a stable foundation for Dreah and her children, ensuring they have the security and support Melissa always wished she could provide. Every gift made in Melissa’s memory helps carry forward her love and care, supporting the family she cherished most.

Melissa is survived by her beloved daughter Dreah and her cherished grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

For those who prefer, donations may also be made in Melissa’s memory to Diabetes Canada, supporting research, education, and community programs for people living with diabetes, or Blue Door, an Ontario-based organization that provides compassionate support and resources to individuals and families facing life’s most difficult circumstances.
