Dear Friends and Family,
Our dear friend and Plote Construction co-worker, Melissa “Missy” Cackler, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. On Monday, June 2nd, she underwent a double mastectomy. She now faces a challenging road to recovery at home, followed by chemotherapy treatments.
We want Missy to know she’s not facing this journey alone. As someone who has personally walked this path, I know how crucial a strong support system is—both at home and at work. The fear and uncertainty can be overwhelming, but knowing you have family and friends who care about you can bring comfort, strength, hope and courage.
When I went through chemotherapy, I used something called a Penguin Cold Cap, which helped prevent hair loss. It was a small comfort that made a big difference in preserving my sense of normalcy. Missy would love to use the Cold Cap during her treatments, but unfortunately, the cost is approximately $3,000—a cost that she and her husband, John, are not currently able to afford. If we meet the goal of $3,000, any remaining funds would be put towards Missy's medical bills.
We are asking for your help to raise funds to rent the Cold Cap for Missy. This gift would allow her to maintain some physical normalcy during a life-altering time and serve as a powerful reminder that she is surrounded by love and support.
Missy and her husband, John, have given so much of themselves to the Woodstock Moose Lodge and the surrounding community. Now it’s our turn to give back to Missy. Let’s show Missy that she’s not in this fight alone. With your help, we can provide her with a bit of comfort and a lot of courage as she takes on this battle.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
