Melissa McKinney & Dean Corn Medical Fund

Hello,

Most of you from Mitchell County NC, will probably know Melissa McKinney and Dean Corn. Melissa has lived here, her entire life and Dean's been here, the better part, of 30 years or more. Together they've raised Melissa's boys; Dalton and Dillon. Dean's been a loving and compassionate father and husband. He's dedicated his life to helping others. He worked for the Department of Public Safety for 30 years and retired as a Lieutenant. He also worked for the Yancy County Sheriff's Dept. Melissa retired from DPS as a Lieutenant as well.

They attend Fork Mountain Baptist Church. You might have seen Dean mowing the lawn at church or picking up the trash along the side of the road. He helped take care of his daddy, Melissa's daddy and brother in their final days. Dean has a servants heart and would surely give you, the very shirt off his back.

Dean loves the outdoors, nature and he loves to hunt, but more than anything, Dean loves his family, his wife Melissa and his boys Dillon and Dalton.

Dean is a man that truly loves God and has great faith in the journey he's is on...

As most of you know Dean has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer and he's been told that it's spread to his bones, soft tissue, and adrenal gland. He's never questioned God's plan for him and only prays for his will to be done. Dean has endured 12 rounds of radiation so far and 2 rounds of chemotherapy and Keytruda. Dean is so very weak, he needs help with most daily needs, such as getting dressed and he sleeps most of the time.

Melissa is trying to deal with all of this with Dean being so sick and now they have a major plumbing issue with the shower leaking due to faulty construction, it's caused extensive damage to the walls and floor.

Melissa and Dean would never ask for help, so on their behalf... As a community, we're asking to please, PLEASE, help these wonderful people and please keep Dean, Melissa, Dalton, Dillon and their family in your prayers, they definitely need all they can get.
