Hello!! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated- every dollar has even a huge help!
I wanted to give an update! I have started a new job that I love and work with great people. It’s still a bit until my first check, though. In the meantime, I’m trying to cover a few essential prescriptions to pay for, rent for November, and if possible, have enough for a new to me car or an amount to go towards the purchase. It’s been one day at a time, one foot in front of the other. If you are able to help at all, I would be most grateful. I’m crawling to the finish line that’s just a ways in front of me.
Hi, I’m Melissa Ropp. I moved back up to Vancouver, WA, this past August after losing my job in May and then helping to care for a loved one who suddenly passed in Corvallis. With family drama, manipulation, and lies being handed out freely, being near my side of family and friends was where we wanted to be. Shortly after arriving, my car was stolen, a serious medical issue happened, and my car insurance was making me pay out of pocket upfront to be reimbursed later. My unemployment isn’t a lot, and until I get a new position, things are falling behind with extra bills thrown on top. My main concern is being able to get caught up on rent.
I know everyone is feeling the tightness with the increased prices of everything, so it’s not lost on me how this looks to ask for help myself. I’ve tried to get help from other sources and programs but seem to fall in the crevice of “not quite bad enough,” but if I can’t pay my rent for September and October, the situation will be very dire quickly. This is one of those situations where if one thing goes sideways or something extra is added, the balance will break before I can even get established here.
Any help at all is very appreciated. I’ve always been about helping and paying it forward when someone has helped me. I’m very thankful for your time to even read this.
