Melissa Gail and the Morning Dew Southwest Tour

Donation protected
Hi friends, thank you for being here! My name is Melissa and I am a singer-songwriter, banjo and flute player and member of the 5 piece band Melissa Gail and the Morning Dew. We are planning our very first full-band tour, and we need your support!

I recently traded in my Honda Fit for a 2007 Dodge Sprinter van, and we are prepping to hit the Southwest on June 1st, playing El Cosmico in Marfa, Tumbleroot in Santa Fe, Brues Ale House in Colorado, and many more! (see below for full details)

My dear friend Elisa/Little Power Songs will be touring and opening for us. We have been collaborating, talking with fellow musicians, crunching numbers and sending hundreds of emails, and learning much along the way! What we've realized is that while we will have some return on our shows (projected to be around $1,200- $2,000), split between all musicians we will still be operating at a deficit. To make this trip possible for everyone, we will need certain expenses covered up front (see below for full list of expenses).

Thanks to friends, fans, and family, we have come a long way, having released our first full-length album Crystalline Charm in 2020, with our second studio album Home coming out this fall 2022.

As you may know, being an independent musician isn't easy and can require a lot of hustle, large investments of money for studio time, videography, equipment, business and PR support + the constant juggling of having multiple jobs and wearing many hats, and the dance of putting ourselves out there and facing many failures and rejections between the triumphs.

The music, band, and I continue to grow and evolve and gratefully get to keep creating and sharing the music we feel called to bring into the world from the purest place in our hearts and souls!

We sincerely and humbly thank you for your support in our journey. We wouldn't be where we are without the help of people like you!

For anyone donating at the $200 mark or beyond, we will offer a personalized thank you note with band Merch <3

Official bio:
Melissa Gail Klein is a banjo player, flute player and singer songwriter based out of Austin, Texas. Her songs are a refreshing hit of true magic for trying times, and a fun companion for the everyday grind.

When she’s not flying solo, Melissa is artfully backed by her 5-piece band The Morning Dew, with Jon Clayton on electric guitar, Jacqueline May (Arco Rei Music) on cello, Augie Gmitter on bass, and drummer Ethan Schneider. The Morning Dew create moving soundscapes with riveting harmonies, and unexpected genre shifts ranging from samba, rock and bluegrass, to soul and folk.

Melissa’s latest title Crystalline Charm features some of the finest players on the Southwest music scene including Phoebe Hunt, members of Ley Line and The Deer. In collaboration with producer Grant Johnson (The Recording Apparatus), Crystalline Charm weaves a bold and varied musical statement, ranging from folksy ballads reminiscent of Laura Marling to alt rock tunes nodding to bands like White Denim and the Strokes. Melissa’s second full-length record Home is set to release summer 2022, when she and the Morning Dew will be taking their music on the road.

Melissa Gail Klein has been featured on radio stations and podcasts across the US and abroad. Offstage, she puts her heart into her work a therapist and advocate for women survivors of sex trafficking and justice-involved individuals.

Little Power Songs
BIO

Hailing from the west coast and the cusp of Driftwood TX, Little Power Songs are coming through to motivate the adventure of life.

Inspired by love for nature and for natural ways of being, vocalist/producer Elisa Davila Crawford conjures an eclectic realm of melody and texture. The words are animated by a danceable heartbeat that lifts the spirit, moving the listener to sing along with their heart full of hope.

Elisa has been making electronic music since she was 20 years old, in addition to directing several full lineups over the years (Los Angeles and Colorado) for proto-Little Power Songs band, Now Forever. Her later studies at the Sage Academy of Sound (Woodstock NY) furthered her sonic craft and devotion to the healing experience of music.

She has performed in art galleries (David Lewis; Whitney Museum of American Art - Manhattan), multicultural gatherings (Queretaro MX; Vancouver BC; Miami FL), and beloved community spaces including The Smell (DTLA), Casa de Luz (ATX) and Titwrench Festival (Denver CO).

Little Power Songs as a project is motivated through a continual beginner’s study of authentic expression and Earth stewardship. Heading out on her first tour this summer, Elisa seeks to partner with local nonprofits on the route in support of their endeavors.

Her in-progress EP The Angel Speaks highlights the encouragement in our day-to-day, the little big voice calling us forward to transform and to shine with one another. Featuring co-production from William Deane Burke, and appearances from friends new and enduring ♡
