Melissa Childers Cancer Fight

Hey friends and family,

 

We are fundraising to help Melissa Childers fight Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme , a rare and aggressive brain cancer that requires many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, as well as additional surgery each time a new tumor surfaces. The average survival rate is just 1-2 years. We are praying that Melissa defies those odds and lives to fight for many years to come, and want to help her in all the ways possible.

 

At the time of diagnosis, two tumors were found, one with a large cyst that was causing her to faint repeatedly. The tumor with the cyst has been removed, leaving the second to be scheduled for removal in the coming weeks.

 

Melissa will be posting her battle as often as possible, making sure we all hear from her here or on Caring Bridge.

 

She plans to work for as long as possible through her treatment, however the treatments and surgeries will make working impossible for extended periods. The money raised here will go to paying her medical bills, making all donations count immediately.
