Melissa and Tonya need us

Dear Amazing Supporters,

I am overwhelmed with gratitude as I write this message to each and every one of you. Your generosity, kindness, and compassion have truly touched my heart during this incredibly difficult time. I want to express my deep appreciation for your support, love, and understanding as I navigate the loss of my beloved dog Tonya n

While the initial purpose of the GoFundMe campaign was to help cover the medical expenses for my dog, unfortunately, my dear companion has passed away. I cannot begin to describe the deep sadness and sense of loss that I am experiencing. The outpouring of support and donations from all of you has been a source of comfort and strength for me during this painful period.

The total bill was $6700 including testing and treating my other dogs and sending in toxicology.

However, I want to share with you that the funds raised will not go to waste. In honor of my Tonya, I have made the decision to use the donations to support other poisoning victims and their families. Your contributions will make a lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of those who may be facing similar challenges. Your generosity will help provide vital resources, support, and awareness to prevent such tragedies from happening to other pets.

I am deeply moved by the kindness and love that you have shown me, and I promise to pay it forward by using your donations to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Your support has given me hope and renewed my faith in the goodness of humanity. While my heart aches for the loss of my companion, I find solace in knowing that something positive will come from this difficult experience.

I want to send each and every one of you a heartfelt thank you for your contributions, whether big or small. Your thoughtfulness and compassion have made a lasting impact on me, and I will forever be grateful for your generosity. Please know that every donation, every kind word, and every gesture of support has meant the world to me during this challenging time.

I also want to express my deepest gratitude to those who have shared words of encouragement, sent messages of love, and offered their sympathies. Your empathy and understanding have provided me with a sense of comfort and strength. I am truly touched by the incredible support that I have received from this community. I had no idea.

e-based hope and my er vet is a long time friend and quite blunt which i need. 30/30/30 recovery/life with serious kidney disease/death. It's too soon to expect much more chamge. At least another 24 to 48 hours to know which way it goes. It is, for certain, a toxin poisining so I'll be monitoring everyone closely with daily bloodwork. But it's not ethylene glycol as she'd be dead.

first phase aims to “restart” the kidneys buy giving large amounts of intravenous fluids to “flush” them out minimum 72 hours The aim of this process known as diuresis is to stimulate the kidney cells to function again. If there are enough functional kidney, they may be able to satisfy the body’s needs for waste removal. Fluid therapy also replaces necessary electrolytes, especially potassium. Aggressive intravenous (IV) fluids
Anti-vomiting medication
Urine monitoring
Symptomatic supportive care
Typically, hospitalization for 24-72 hours is necessary, depending on the kidney toxin. The prognosis is almost always better when the poisoning is identified sooner, rather than later. Once clinical signs of poisoning are seen, the cost and duration of hospitalization is more costly and longer, and the prognosis is worse.

If she can pull through realistically, I'm looking at 6k-8k if it's a full recovery. Donations can be made directly to the er vet as well

Dear community members,

We are reaching out to you in a time of desperate need. Our dear friend Melissa, who has dedicated her life to advocating for wildlife and the people who live them in our community, are in a devastating situation. Just recently, Tonya Harding one of Melissa's beloved dogs was maliciously poisoned by an unknown perpetrator. We all enjoy the antics of Tonya! This act of cruelty has left her heartbroken and needing to cover the extensive medical bills for tonyas treatment and monitoring of her other pets.

We are pleading with our community to come together and support Tonya and Melissa during this difficult time. She has selflessly devoted herself to rescuing and caring for animals in need, and now they need our help. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference in alleviating the financial burden they are facing.

Let's rally behind Melissa, and show her that she is not alone in this fight. Together, we can help them overcome this heartbreaking ordeal and give her dogs the care and love they desperately need.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
RENE AND GLWA BOARD
