Melissa and Kyle Jones Hurricane Ian Relief

On September 28th, with only their dogs and a few personal items, Melissa and Kyle went to stay with friends 3 miles inland as Hurricane Ian was close to making landfall where they live in Southwest Florida. This story is even more heartbreaking because Melissa is currently fighting stage 4 cancer. Just a few days earlier, on September 21st, Melissa learned her white blood cell counts and neutrophils were critically low, and the doctors advised her she needed to stay home and not be around people for at least a week. Their house took a direct hit, and they lost almost everything. Kyle is doing everything he can to salvage what is left, but Melissa cannot help due to the bacteria in the flood waters. She is heading north to stay at a friend's house to get rest and start filing claims. In the meantime, Melissa hasn't been able to get her blood counts checked because the hospitals in her area are closed. We are praying she can resume her cancer treatment as soon as possible while starting the process of rebuilding from nothing.

Please consider donating whatever you can; funds raised will be used towards temporary housing, travel to and from MD Anderson, overall living expenses and helping to rebuild.
