UPDATE: Melissa is currently in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. First, we would like to say thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and continued support. Although there has been a very slight improvement in Melissa's health, the Anaya's have a long journey ahead of them. So far, the family has lost two wage earners, and the cost of commuting to Los Angeles daily, medical expenses, rent and daily life are becoming unbearable. PLEASE SUPPORT FAMILY! My name is Gregory Woolfenden. I have had the pleasure of knowing Melissa Anaya since the age of five. Although we are not blood-related, I consider her to be my niece and love her very much. Just last week, at the age of nineteen years old, she began a battle with AML Leukemia. This has come as a shock to her mom, Adriana, Dad Sergio, and Brother Sergio Jr., as they never imagined that they would be faced with such a difficult challenge at such a young age. She has had to put her dreams on hold and focus all of her energy on fighting this deadly disease.

Upon receiving a cancer diagnosis, Melissa was placed into a coma and rushed to three different hospitals before being placed at UCLA. However, as you can imagine, the cost of her treatment is quite expensive. Adriana, has taken a leave of absence in order to be close to her daughter at all times and make medical decisions.With Adriana not working, Melissa's family will have to figure out how to pay their rent, medical bills, transportation and other basic living expenses. Melissa has a long, wonderful future ahead of her, and we want to help her achieve it.

That is why I am asking for your help. I have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money for Melissa's cancer treatment and expenses, including rent, medical bills, transportation, and other expenses related to her treatment. It is imperative that Melissa and her family be able to focus on getting better and not worry about the financial burden that comes with life-saving treatment.
