On Tuesday November 8, 2016, what started off as a normal time with old family friends took a turn for the worst. Melinda Salas a young mother to a 7 year old boy named Yaden, was shot in the spine, which is now completely shattered, the bullet pierced both her lungs.Melinda recalls laying in the ambulance drifting in and out of consciousness. Melinda was in the ICU for about 4 days before they removed her breathing tube and took her off medications that were sedating her. That is when the doctors had to tell her that she was paralyzed from the waist down and would never walk again. Much less dance which is something Melinda loves to do.Melinda has continued to be in the hospital where she is receiving physical therapy and pain management. At this moment Melinda doesn't have insurance which is starting to become a burden to her. She will not be able to continue working, with her new disability. She was recently informed by the hospital that she is to be discharged on December 9th. She currently is not able to maintain a life on her own with what has happened to her. She doesn't have the needed medical supplies, such as a wheelchair which will now become her mode of transportation or money to buy everything that is needed to live a life outside the hospital walls. Melinda was previously renting a room, but now she needs a home that wheelchair accessible. With your help and donations we can help get Melinda all the needed medical supplies she needs, a wheelchair, a home she can go home to and money to pay off over a months stay in the hospital.Even if you cannot donate at this time please share her story and help get her story out. It's great appreciated. We thank you all, god bless. Debbie
