Last year the Melinda Badura Memorial Fund was a great success. We want to continue to honor Melinda with a 2nd Annual Memorial Fund, which will once again benefit the school and students she loved working with.

With the funds from last year, Golden Hills Elementary is in the process of creating a Sensory Room and looking at different Buddy Bench ideas. These items meet the needs of the students and will be there to honor Melinda for years to come.

(A Sensory Room is used by students when they need a quiet space to calm down and get ready to learn. A Buddy Bench is available for students if they feel lonely on the playground. They can go to the bench as a signal they need someone to play with. Other children then see that and can go sit and talk with them or invite them to join an activity or game).

Hopefully, we can continue to help Golden Hills and its students as Melinda wished.

Regardless of the amount donated, if there are any ideas/suggestions on how the school could use the funds, please let me know, as I am humbled at the opportunity the school has given me to help direct the funds.
