What Happened

On Friday evening, 6 November 2026, a heartbreaking tragedy occurred in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.

At approximately 8:10pm on Frederick Way, near Queen Street and A’Beckett Street, two food delivery riders noticed a man allegedly interfering with their bicycles.

According to Victoria Police, the riders approached the man, and an altercation followed.

Tragically, one of the riders, 47-year-old Jianming Feng, known affectionately to his friends and colleagues as Brother Feng, suffered fatal stab wounds.

Despite emergency services performing CPR, Feng could not be saved. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another delivery rider, aged 34, was also injured and taken to hospital.

A 51-year-old man was arrested the following morning, and police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

What should have been another ordinary Friday evening at work ended in an unimaginable tragedy.

Brother Feng went to work that evening, just like he had done for years. He never made it home.

Who Was Brother Feng?

Originally from a small village in Shaanxi Province, China, Feng came to Australia around 2017, leaving behind his wife and two children to work and support his family.

For years, he worked tirelessly as a food delivery rider across Melbourne’s CBD, becoming a familiar and much-loved face among local businesses, restaurant owners and fellow riders.

His colleagues told us he rarely spent money on himself. Almost everything he earned went towards supporting his loved ones back in China. Even his shoes were among the cheapest he could find at DFO.

He wasn’t chasing luxury or an extravagant lifestyle. He was simply a hardworking man trying to give his family a better future.

His colleagues remember him as incredibly diligent, generous and kind-hearted.

The owners of XieXie Pancake, who had known him for four years, described him as warm, patient and friendly, someone who took his work seriously and could easily become friends with anyone he met.

One colleague who had worked alongside him for seven years shared:

“I witnessed firsthand his unwavering diligence, his generous nature, and his commitment to doing his job honestly and well. He was a truly kind and hardworking person, and it is heartbreaking, simply impossible to accept, that he met such a tragic end.”

A Family Left Behind

Feng was the main financial provider for his family in China.

His wife has lost her husband. His children have lost their father. His elderly family members have lost someone they depended on.

His family is now trying to arrange urgent travel to Melbourne to deal with the devastating aftermath of his death.

No family should have to experience this, especially when their loved one was simply trying to earn an honest living.

For years, Brother Feng delivered food to our homes, workplaces and restaurants. He was part of the everyday life of our city, even if many of us never knew his name.

He was someone’s husband. Someone’s father. Someone’s son. Someone’s friend.

He deserved to finish his shift and return home safely.

We cannot bring Brother Feng back, but together, we can help ease the burden on the family he worked so hard to support.

2026年11月6日（星期五）晚，墨尔本发生一起令人痛心的恶性持刀伤人事件。一位在墨尔本辛勤工作多年的华人外卖骑手-大家熟悉的冯大哥，不幸遇袭身亡。

这一突如其来的悲剧，让他的家人、朋友、同事以及整个墨尔本华人社区陷入深深的悲痛之中。

冯大哥是一位勤劳、善良、诚恳的人。多年来，他一直踏踏实实地工作，认真对待生活，也真诚地对待身边的每一个人。谁也没有想到，这样一位普通而善良的劳动者，会以如此令人心碎的方式离开我们。

事发当晚，墨尔本唐人街商业协会（MCBA）第一时间接到了协会会员商家以及受害者同事的紧急求助电话。

面对突如其来的悲剧，许多外卖骑手和社区成员感到震惊、悲伤与无助。协会随即积极联系相关政府部门、民意代表及社区各方，寻求事件信息，并尽最大努力协调资源，为受害者家属及受到影响的社区成员提供帮助。

我们深知，任何帮助都无法挽回一条宝贵的生命，也无法减轻家属失去至亲的痛苦。但我们希望，在这个最艰难的时刻，至少能够让他们感受到来自墨尔本社会各界的温暖与支持。

为此，墨尔本唐人街商业协会（MCBA）正式发起本次 GoFundMe 爱心募捐，希望凝聚社会各界的力量，为冯大哥的家属提供经济援助，帮助他们应对突如其来的困难及后续生活所需。
