My name is Angela, and I’m setting up this fundraiser for My Beautiful Daughter Mela, she is the eldest daughter of my five children. A few Months ago she was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma, Basically in short it’s Thyroid Cancer and it has been such an incredible journey watching how Brave and incredible she is. Only 20 years old, and presumed to have had this for nearly 7 years without our knowledge . She has been working graveyard every week to get by, missing shifts to take care of her health as best as she can. During her treatment and doctors appointments it’s been physically taxing on her of course but especially mentally, emotionally, and financially. Although she may not always ask for help, wanting to ease the financial burden in any way I can for my daughter, so she can focus on her healing and recovery, is what matters most. We are very very grateful to OHSU Knight Cancer Institute for doing everything they can for my Babygirl. Thank you to surgeon Dr. Lim, and all of his residents , and to the nurses (Ekaete, Matthew, and Sara and everyone else) who made sure Mela felt comfortable during her stay as harsh as it was on her. Thank you to the speech therapist who showed her how to take her medications, and drink her fluids properly. We couldn’t have made it to this point without any of you. I am forever grateful, and I know my Mela is too.
