Melanie's Garden

Melanie poured her great heart, vast knowledge, and untold hours of her time into the Bol Park Native Garden. Melanie had an inspired and expansive vision of a beautiful park and garden that would nurture native insects, birds and animals. The garden is larger, more deeply rooted and more lovely every year, providing ecological awareness along with joy to all who stop by. No doubt her spirit permeates every plant and insect in that garden.

Melanie helped to make the garden a jewel. Among her many ideas that could make it ever better was to have a picnic table farther out in the park, where she had started to develop a native garden area. To that end, we invite you to participate in creating, in Melanie’s honor, a fund that will provide on-going support for the garden, and to dedicate in her name a new picnic table for the park, where even those who did not know her will be able celebrate her garden’s beauty.

We anticipate needing approximately $6,000 for the table, with a memorial plaque, and hope to provide the garden fund with around $4,000.
