Melanie Wassell: End of life costs and Tribute

We are asking for donations to help raise money for the upcoming costs of the memorial/funeral and medical bills. Melanie currently had stage 4 cancer and she is with GOD now, being welcomed in heaven by her mom and dad.

Melanie Wassell, born on October 15, 1962, in Escondido, California, passed away on January 19, 2025, in Austin, Texas. She was the beloved daughter of Edward and Patricia Wassell and a devoted mother to her three children, Tara Eaquivel, Tosha Graham, and Tyler Gorski.

A proud graduate of Jacksonville High School, Melanie was known for her infectious laughter and vibrant personality. She had an extraordinary gift for bringing joy to those around her, often lighting up any gathering with her humor and impromptu songs. Melanie's favorite place in the world was North Carolina, where she cherished making memories with her family.

She was married to Mike Gorski from 1984 to 1992. Melanie is survived by her loving children, her siblings Ron, Mike, and Rob, and many friends who will remember her for her spirited nature and love of life.

In her free time, Melanie enjoyed visiting casinos and playing bingo, often leading to lively family game nights—though she was notorious for bending the rules in her favor. Her favorite movies included "Dances with Wolves" and the series "Yellowstone," which mirrored her adventurous spirit.

Melanie will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, as she truly embodied the life of the party and loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Her legacy of laughter and love will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.

Melanie’s funerals service will be held on Monday, 1/27/25 from 5pm-8pm at the Salina’s Event Center. 1900 E Howard Ln, Bldg 5, 78660
