Our beloved Melanie Simmons--wife, dog-mom, daughter, sister, aunt, and most importantly, follower of Christ--suffered a severe brain injury due to lack of oxygen to her brain for a period of time following a yet to be diagnosed illness that has required multiple rounds of dialysis and many diagnostic tests and many nights in the ICU. This was all so sudden. She is young and full of life and is currently fighting for her life. She is in a coma at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. We will hear from the neurologist tomorrow, May 19, to determine next steps.
This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family, as I’m sure you can imagine. God and the outpouring of prayers, love and support from our dear friends and family have helped us get through this tragic time. Many have asked how they can help, so I have set up a GoFundMe page for my brother-in-law, Kevin, to help with the financial burden that he has and will be put under. We appreciate anything you can give to help decrease the financial burden, as this is the last thing we want him to worry about. Kevin is Melanie’s everything. He has been a rock and has relayed information to our immediate family 3x daily since she has been in the hospital. Please consider donating financially to assist him and Melanie if you feel led to do so.
Thank you all so much in advance for your generosity. Most importantly, thank you for your continued prayers as we are on this journey. We are taking one day at a time and will keep you all updated.
“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:4
