Support Melanie Hoff Jirka's Fight Against Cancer

Mel was very recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will be starting chemotherapy and undergoing surgery in the coming weeks. If you are fortunate enough to know her (and her infectious laugh), you are already aware that to know her is to love her. Her genuine commitment to and compassion for her community (both human and animal) is unmatched. Whether she is planning her church’s next mission trip to aid with disaster recovery, repurposing old newspaper boxes into free street pantries, crawling under and replacing flooring for a family in need through WAMY, or fostering (and often adopting) a pet with significant medical diagnoses, so much of her time and resources are willingly dedicated to others. She admittedly struggles to accept help for herself, but we don’t want Mel to worry about medical expenses or missed work/lost income while undergoing and recovering from surgery and treatment. We know that her determination and positive outlook will help her kick this cancer to the curb, and we thank you in advance for any contribution you may be able to give to help Mel navigate and beat this!
