Unfortunately Mel's lovely home caught fire at 7.30 am on Saturday 29th of March. The fire caught hold an destroyed the whole of the contents of their home, nothing is salvageable because of the smoke and water damage, so they have to start again from scratch and re build another home.

Luckily they all survived, and their family dog Lola, by jumping out of the back bedroom windows to escape the flames that had already reached the second floor. They have a few cuts and bruises on them all as you can imagine, but their eldest son Jack has unfortunately burnt his fingers on both hands his shoulder, back of his neck, nose, and has also got large cuts and bruises on his legs and shoulder from jumping out of the window. He is needing specialist treatment at Pinderfields burns unit in Wakefield which could be on going for a while.

The whole extent of this terrible event has been traumatising for them all to say the least, let alone losing all their personal possessions and sentimental items too from losing her dad a year ago and her mother in law at Christmas.

They are all suffering from PTSD and are surviving on their nerves at the minute trying to navigate their way through this tragedy, they will all need some professional help going forward, along with replacing all the essential items in their home. Any donation will help them rebuild their home again, and hopefully their lives. Mel is overwhelmed by the amount of love and support people have shown her with messages etc, she is really struggling at the minute.
