Meknes 2019 Orphanage Medical Mission

Please support our 3rd yearly medical mission to help orphans in Morocco. We are $9500 short of donations to help ensure we have the required supplies for the services our doctors will provide.
HMEMSA’s mission is to support the exchange of expertise between American and Moroccan professional. One way we do this is through an annual Health Missions to orphanages in Morocco.
From April 24th – 29th, 2019 our team of doctors along with many Moroccan doctors, healthcare professionals and volunteers will be caring for the orphans living at 2 orphanages of the Rita Zniber Foundation in Meknes, Morocco. We will be providing dental, vision, hearing, and other specialty medical services.
The goals of this year's mission are:
1. Share our expertise of the latest evidence based practices in various medical specialties to help the Moroccan health professionals advance in their practice while connecting, supporting and encouraging them to contribute to better the health of the orphans in Morocco
2. Provide training to the orphanage staff on variety of topics that interest them and benefit the physical and emotional well being of children in these institutions
3. Bring needed health services to the children at these orphanages to facilitate easier access to and provide medical supplies to meet their health care needs
4. Set up a follow up system for continuity of care after the mission trip is complete
Some accomplishment of past missions include:
Our 2017 mission to Sale and Temera orphanages provided 850 health services to 270 orphans and 85 follow up health services including dental, vision and hearing.
Our 2018 mission to Casablanca provided 654 health services to 223 orphans including: 41 vision, 7 hearing and 51 dental follow up health services.
As further follow-up to our 2018 mission in Casablanca, in 2019 HMEMSA and its Moroccan volunteer doctors completed a state of the art dental clinic at Lala Hassna Casablanca orphanage. The clinic will provide continuing dental care and opportunities for our local volunteers to touch the lives of the orphans for many years to come.

We have already raised $10,500, half of our funds needed for the mission, but we still need a modest $9,500.
