Last week I got a terrible call from my dad, “I have bad news babe. Your brother is gone, but his body wasn’t found.” Unfortunately my brother Mekhi’s body was found, he drowned in the lake at sly park while trying to enjoy a hot summer day with his close friends like almost teens would consider normal. Mekhi lost his life at the young age of 19. No parent should have to bury their child. While my father is mourning & caring for Mekhi’s twin brother who is autistic, he still has to work and resume everyday routine to maintain.
