Hi, I’m Leyat Endeshaw. I would love and appreciate your help in my venture to help my fellow Ethiopians. Together, with your help, I would like to support Mekedonia Family Home in their efforts to care for our elderly, homeless and mentally ill. The gift I hope to make is not a huge sum. However I really and truly believe extending our hands together is a priceless sentiment.


About me:
I’m a 16 year old Ethiopian-American. I was born and raised in Washington and my parents have taught me the importance of knowing my Ethiopian roots. They have helped me develop the curiosity, love and compassion I have for my country.


I have been fortunate enough to visit Ethiopia many times over summer and winter breaks. During my last trip, I visited Macedonia family home. I am in love and happy with the support they give to the homeless, elderly, and people with mental disabilities.

I also plan to volunteer at this non-profit organization the whole summer of 2018.


Here in the US, my family works in a similar way with Adult Family Homes. I see first hand the importance of caring for our elders. Visiting Mekedonia, showed me an opportunity to fulfill my long standing wish of helping my fellow Ethiopians.


With your help, I am confident we can make this wish become reality.
