Brent Cannon Memorial Fund

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we’re creating this gofund page to assist in any memorial or extra expenses due to the passing of Brent Cannon, who was taken from us unexpectedly and far too soon in the early hours on January 1, 2023, at only 34 years old. The devastating loss of Brent will be deeply felt by his family, fiancé, children, and many friends who are shocked and mourning the death of a loving person who impacted the lives of others in so many wonderful ways. The funds will go to assist in memorial expenses and any bills or needs for the family left behind.

From an early age, Brent was always a hard worker, and he always encouraged and guided those around him to better themselves. As the oldest in the family, Brent was the glue that bound the siblings together, always a listening ear and someone that was happy to offer advice or help in any capacity. A die-hard Cowboys and Rangers fan, Brent rooted for his team every chance he got, defending his teams no matter what. When he walked into the room, it simply lit up and there was no stranger that he met. Brent could make anyone laugh, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do to ensure that everyone felt loved and comfortable.

Brent, after being in the Navy for 3 years, he graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Science, in Construction Management. Brent was also a Member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Brent started his career with Manhattan Construction in 2018 as a Project Engineer moving up to Project Manager on the George Bush Foundation project in College Station. Brent was an overachiever, highly disciplined, and motivated to do whatever it takes to get the job done beating any expectations which quickly made him an integral part of any project he was on with other team members, subs, and Owners.

Brent had recently gotten engaged to his fiancee, Maria and they were going to tie the knot in January. Their love was one of a kind, complimenting one another so effortlessly and they were both looking forward to beginning their lives together as a blended family. He was a dedicated and loving father and leaves behind his daughter Mia and his stepson, Yael. Mia was his greatest joy, and she was a Daddy’s girl all the way. Yael and Brent quickly developed a bond that made him exceptionally proud and excited to be his stepfather. There is no one who will ever fill the shoes that Brent Cannon left behind, and his death will be a loss that will never truly heal.

His family and friends will have a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 7th, at 2 PM at the VFW Post 1533 located at 107 Elmhurst Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78209. The viewing is scheduled for Sunday the 8th between the hours of 10 AM-12N at Porter Loring Funeral Home at 1101 McCullough Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78212. Please feel free to contact Kelly at Manhattan via email with any stories/videos you would like to share with the family.
