Gail Uriegas of The Colony, TX is one of the sweetest Christian ladies you will ever meet. She is a widow surviving on a fixed income and raising her four grandsons, Jonathan (age 19 - starting college this semester), Andrew (age 14 - Lakeview Middle School), Gabe (age 11 - Camey Elementary), and Jereme (age 9 - also at Camey), all of whom she had full custody for several years. While her daughter, their aunt, as well as friends, help as much as they can, it's hard to survive on social security with 5 people in the house.
I've known Gail for nearly 7 years as a fellow member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX and she is NEVER one to ask for anything, so we are using this campaign to ask for help. Her grandson Andrew, pictured with her, was in an accident at home on January 8th and had to be Careflighted to Parkland hospital with 2nd and some 3rd degree burns on approximately 40% of his body and a broken arm. He is still in the hospital, getting ready to to have his second skin grafting surgery tomorrow (January 15, 2016). While their medical is covered, there are home expenses and repairs along with needs for new furniture for all four boys in order to accomodate the sanitary environment when Andrew returns home from the hospital in a few weeks. Gail is staying with him at the hospital. Any funds beyond those needed for furniture and repairs will be used to cover other basic needs like food and clothing for the family.
We really need to get the funds together within the next week or so, in order to get the home ready for Andrew when he gets out of the hospital and relieve some of the burden on Gail. Thank you for any donation, big or small, and your prayers for this sweet family.
