Help Get Meilani & Her Family To Nationals

Hello Family, Friends and Supporters!

My name is Demetrius Jackson and I am creating this page to help gain support for my oldest daughter Meilani in her pursuit of back-to-back Championships in the 800m track and field event.

Meilani has an undeniable talent and is impressive to watch on the field. At only 7 years old and in her first year ever running track, she beat all odds and became an All-American National Champion for the 7/8 age division. She has made me so proud not only as her father but also as her coach. Having the chance to train and coach Meilani has been such a great experience and rewarding to witness her passion and perseverance. On and off the field Meilani grinds, hustles, and trains with one goal and dream in mind. She is determined to bring home another Championship medal in this event. This year she has moved up in the age bracket as she just turned 8 and will be racing as one of the youngest if not the youngest athletes to compete in the 9/10 age group.

Nationals this year take place in Eugene, Oregon this coming July. To compete at this high level with all of the top performers in the country is a reflection of all the hard work, time and effort she has invested. Track means the world to her and she has created a track family within the sport. None of this would be possible without the positive support and encouragement from family, friends, coaches and teammates. Thank you to everyone who has seen Meilani go to work and has helped motivate her along the way.

We hope that you can continue to support Mei Mei in reaching her goal and making her dreams come true. With Nationals around the corner, we have been working harder than ever! I am hoping you will help us get her back to that National Stage. Meilani is the oldest of 8 siblings and is already an inspiration to all of them. Watching her run has most certainly become a family tradition. That being said, all donations will go directly towards funding Meilani’s travel and stay during the competition out of state as well as her mom, dad and siblings. (Airfare, room and board etc). Our total goal is $6,000 and half of that is saved, so the contribution you make will be for the remaining amount. If you’re an athlete or have been involved in sports to any degree, you understand how these costs and expenses can add up when traveling and in this particular instance, making Nationals.

I can confidently say that there isn’t a young girl who is more hard-working than Meilani so to have the opportunity to display her talents at Nationals is the ultimate blessing. Thank you all for your help and support! We love you all!
