This is me and my wife Meighan

Gofudme verified my wife's medical situation and her permission to fundraise for her. She has a lot of pride and wasn't comfortable with this at first.

Meighan and I have been struggling a lot with making ends meet month to month due to high medical bills since insurance doesn't cover everything she needs. We travel at least 60 miles one way to see one of her specialists. Another is 100 miles away, her neurologist who is every 3 months until December is a 300 mile drive.

So for 10 months now I have been taking care of Meighan on my own plus working 15 hour days in the oilfield.

At first no one knew what was wrong so I had to bathe her even. She did learn how to walk again but was paralyzed and couldn't use her legs and had a hard time with her arms for the first 2 months after the 2nd time she was hospitalized last year.

Trying to provide for mine and her bills plus the new stuff with her medical and lawyer fees. My wife is so intelligent, she does EVERYTHING on her own. But her many conditions have affected her brain, so she gets confused very easily now and can't do her own application for disability retirement as a government employee so that's why I have to finish paying the lawyer who's doing it for her, and the doctor has to be paid for doing his part that the insurance doesn't cover

My wife has these diagnoses, one she got last week. The last diagnosis caused a lot of emotional problems for her because she feels so defeated.

Relapsing Remitting (MS) multiple sclerosis

Sjögren syndrome

Diabetes

Hydradenitis Suppurativa *thanks to my wife for spelling this 1 for me*

CPRS - this is the most painful condition known to affect people. WORSE than amputating a limb with no pain medicine

Hashimoto Thyroiditis

Her HS is back in remission thank God. So are the cluster headaches. CRPS hasn't flared up in a couple of months but her MS flares up every single month for a week so it makes her stuck in bed because she can't move from it.

I guess there is only a handful of people in the world to have this many at once so that’s why she was accepted to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale Arizona and they are using her genes to study to help other people who are as sick as she is.

This has been the hardest on me never had to deal with this kind of thing in my life. Meighan has had alot of muscle deterioration that’s making her very weak. To where she randomly will fall and this happens alot due to me being at work so I have to leave work costing us to lose more money to rush home and pick her up sometimes. She's getting stronger thanks to her MS treatment and the drug maker covers most of the cost of that one, she gets it every 6 months and it costs $250,000 a dose.

Or I’ll have to hold her up in the shower and wash her cause she can’t bend over to wash herself. I bought her a shower chair that helps.

She has had some short term memory loss like She forgets words a lot so she has to explain the word she's trying to say and she gets frustrated very easily.

My wife is an RN for the VA. Being a nurse is not a job for her. It's her life. She is not like other nurses. Once she got a text and it was a picture of someone walking, from behind. It was a veteran who gave up on walking when his wife died. Meighan got him to walk again. She's had them call her from the hospital because the veteran wouldn't calm down and only wanted her. She gets things done when no one else cares or has time. but because she has other people's lives in her hands she can't work so she doesn't make a mistake and hurt someone.

My wife fights pain I didn't know people could have and all she thinks about is protecting other people from the disease and pain that she has that's been ignored a lot and treated like she's making it up, She has lesions in the part of her brain that control her walking and ability to use her body and they won't get worse but they won't get better either. She says that she's ashamed every day. She drove down a highway in a hurricane in Houston to save people when she was a hospice director and her staff couldn't get out in the storm. Now she can't even clean the house. We really need to pay someone to come help but that's not something we can afford so she's always upset and embarrassed by the house and she tries to do things but the Sjogren's disease makes her mouth swell like, instantly when she's stressed out or upset. And then the pain from the MS just electrocutes her is how she says it.

There’s much more problems as well but don’t want to make this too long. Due to all this she can’t work and is fully disabled. So we are waiting for her disability money to come in plus her social security money cause yes even if she’s not of the age of for social security we found out that with some of her diseases she qualified to get it. In order to do so it is taking paying lawyers. Anyways I’m barley making it by paying all of our bills plus add Medical, Travel, and some medication expenses this is what all the mone

Me I’m a stubborn Marine Corps Veteran I hate asking for help and have only ever asked for anything a handful of times in my life.

If you don’t know I’m a Honorable Discharged Marine Corps Veteran and I have a laundry list of my own problems let alone to carry this much weight of another full grown adult is crazy being the age we are.

I just need a break sometimes I’m losing my mind with all this and I can’t cause I have to be strong for meighan cause she deserves a break toowith all the crazy daily pain she’s in keeps her up most of the nights so I’m sure you see if your Facebook friends she’ll be talking on there. I learned that people with MS have the sleeping problems she has. So she’s a test subject to all different kind of medications and all this puts her in some crazy moods. But im done rambling on.

She never got welfare, nothing to help her raise her kids. But after she sold the last of her business with her plants that she loved more than life last weekend at a yard sale to try to help me out, I had to do something.
