Mehera's Web

All the stories about stressed financial journeys in the United States of Underinsurance are not pretty. Pretty sure none of us would ever really want to resort to using GoFundMe, actually to avoid this, yet here we are out of necessity.

Mehera is one of my dearest, most trusted, best friends. She's smart, quirky, funny, giving, loving, and really does not like to ask for help. The independent streak is strong. Mine, too, and I think that's why we are so sympatico, well, one of the reasons.

I have to do everything I can do to help keep her on our little blue marble. I hope you feel similarly. Together, we can do more.

Mehera's first dealing with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma was nearly 20 years ago or so. She beat the odds then and then again 8 years ago. This is not a new adventure, nor a welcome one. I first met her a few short years after her first bout with it. I didn't know anything about it until the second bout.

We love our Mehera, to bits, to the moon and stars, and back home. Cancer drugs are expensive, y'all. Even when they're mostly covered by insurance, it's a budget buster. Living in a single-resident home, when going to work is challenging from appointments and nausea, is hard. Paying for things is hard-hard-hard.
