Meghan's Presentation at AP-LS 2025 Conference

Hello!
My name is Meghan Boudreau and I am a graduate from Allegheny College. I was recently accepted to attend the 2025 American Psychology-Law Society (AP-LS) Conference in Puerto Rico for my senior comprehensive project.
The title of my project is: It's All For the Kids, Right?: Psychological Impacts of the Lawful Removal of Children From Their Home. In this literature review, I explore various negative mental health impacts of child removal, regardless of if the children are victims of abuse or neglect. I suggest that if removal is necessary, trauma-informed court methodology can help minimize the negative psychological impacts of removal. The final portion of my research consists of a series of future recommendations for studies and their relationship to this topic. I will be presenting a poster for this topic at the AP-LS conference in March 2025.
I decided to begin a GoFundMe in hopes to raise enough money to attend this conference and kickstart my career as a social worker. I am deeply interested in honing my public speaking skills and believe this conference will assist in my ability to do so. I am incredibly passionate about this topic and believe more quantitative research needs to be done. By attending this conference, I hope to connect to fellow legal psychologists and social workers to begin much-needed dialogue regarding this topic. Your funding would make this possible. If I can raise even half of my goal, I will be able to attend the conference. The funds will be going towards flights and hotel cost. So please, share this link, and donate only if you are able and willing. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
