Hello dear family and friends - my name is Meggie Ulrich. And, I am humbly reaching out to ask for assistance with an urgent need regarding my monthly medical bills. As most of you who know me well - you know that I do not ask for help. It makes me cringe to think I cannot take care of myself and can no longer take care of and provide for my family. I am a poor delegator and to ask for help is something I am not good at - at all.

My husband Kevin and I have recently been blessed by being assigned by Covered California with MediCal as our form of medical insurance. MediCal is the state's form of insurance for those who are poor and indigent - which Kevin and I now are. And, we've also started receiving Food Stamps - which have been an enormous help at keeping our family fed. Kevin and I are both disabled have absolutely no form of income. And I am again in the process of applying for Disability through Social Security. My claim has been denied twice, Fibromyalgia is generally not an accepted disease/ailment. But, my attorney is in the process of filing an appeal, and a decision should be made by September or October. I ask for your prayers in this regard - if approved, that will provide us with a much needed small monthly income. Until then, we continue to greatly struggle to keep our home and family together.

My request for help is specific with regard to my Pain Management team - whose practice does not accept MediCal. So, the out-of-pocket expense is $380 per my necessary monthly visit. I cannot, must not miss these extremely important monthly visits. Our children have been so lovingly kind and generous with helping us as best they can. For example, my Mother's Day present this year from my wonderful children was payment for my next Doctor's appointment in May. I have been a Scripps Clinic patient since I was 17 years old - 43 years now. Scripps also does not accept MediCal. And, it breaks my heart to not be able to be seen by my regular Doctors; my Primary Care, Rheumatologist and Ob-Gyn doctors who have provided such incredible care to me over all of those years.

I am humbly - truly very humbly, asking for assistance with payment of my monthly medical bill from my awesome pain management doctors and team at Pain Management Consultants here in San Diego. I am seen every 28 days. And we can no longer afford to make these payments going forward. The funds I am hoping to receive will help to cover that prohibitive cost and the cost of 3 of my 8 prescriptions (not covered by MediCal) for the next 12 months.

Any and every consideration for this plea for help will be appreciated more than I can adequately express.
