On December 28, 2021, our dear Meggan was found unresponsive and rushed to the Emergency room. A tumor on the left frontal lobe of her brain was discovered, as well as a dangerous level of swelling inside her skull. She was transported to Redwood City for an emergency craniotomy. The amazing surgeon was able to reduce the swelling as well as remove a good portion of the tumor which was later revealed to be the size of a baseball.

Meggan was transported back to Santa Rosa and is currently in the ICU. Meggan is fighting very hard to come back to us and is making progress every day. Once she is able to leave the ICU, she will be transported to an acute care recover center. Her recovery could potentially be a year long to gain back full speech and other cognitive abilities. On top of that, treatment will be needed to reduce the remaining tumor that was unable to be removed.

Meggan does not have vacation time and will not be able to work during this recovery. If you are able to help monetarily, her current need is to help with her mounting medical bills and other bills (rent/car/etc) she has that she is unable to pay while hospitalized. Even though Meggan is a well loved and dedicated Kaiser employee, her medical insurance does not cover the tremendous cost of brain surgery and everything associated with a long recovery. It also does not cover any of the 4 transports she has currently needed.
