I was diagnosed with Lupus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) back in 2010. And as most of you know, it has been quite a bumpy road for me. On top of having Lupus, I also have a plethora of other auto-immune health issues; grave's disease, auto-immune hepatitis, and Ulcerative colitis.
Over the past year or so, my doctors have kept a close eye on my blood counts... they tend to be very funky and low. As a result, I underwent a bone - marrow biopsy 3 weeks ago, which came back as abnormal. I have roughly 30% of the bone marrow cells that I should have. The cause is unkown, but they are leaning toward my Lupus being culprit. If that is the case, it would be destroying my marrow.
All of my doctors have "pow-wowed" and have decided they are at a crossroad with my treatment. They feel as if I may have other health issues going on, and that the mystery needs to be solves soon. They are tired of seeing me suffering. And I am tired of suffering. I am no longer able to work, and hardly have energy to keep up with every day life.
I can't believe I am asking for this, (those who know me know how much I dislike asking for help!!!!) But... my doctors have decided to send me to WORLD RENOWNED research hospital, The Mayo Clinic, in Jacksonville Florida.
Will you help me get there? Your donation would go toward the cost of airfare to help get me there, as well as other travel expenses, co-pays and coinsurance fees, etc... your help would be GREATLY appreciated!
My appointment is on January 4th, at 9:15am. They expect me to be there for roughly a week. I will have my own team, and am keeping my fingers crossed that we find some much needed pieces to my medical puzzle!!!!
