Megan's Missionary Adventure

Donation protected
Megan Scheumann is a missionary and officially joined the Micah Project (www.micahprojecthonduras.org) in Tegucigalpa, Honduras in 2010. Prior to that, she had volunteered for Micah while teaching for two years at the International School in Tegucigalpa.
Megan is an Indiana native and a graduate of Calvin College with a degree in elementary education. She is a caregiver in the Micah House, a teacher in our educational program, and also assists in our street ministry and ministry to some of the Micah boys’ sisters.  Megan speaks fluent Spanish.
She receives no income for her work at the Micah Project and must raise all her own funds for living expenses, food, travel, insurance, supplies for teaching, clothing, etc.
Megan thanks you for your gracious donation toward her work with the boys at the Micah Project.

The Micah Project is a non-profit organization in Tegucigalpa, Honduras that has two group homes for young men and boys, an outreach to street children and a variety of other ministries to the neediest people in the city. The young men in our group homes, all of whom spent anguished childhoods on the streets or in impoverished homes, are now learning to become Christian leaders through discipleship, formal education and opportunities to develop their talents by serving others. Our goal is to support these young men as they learn to “act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with their God.” (Micah 6:8).

Megan has now made a decision to return to the U.S. to find a new position that will allow her to use her ministry skills, experience, and fluency in Spanish in working with children and those less fortunate.  Her work will involve sharing the Gosple with young children.  She will be leaving Honduras with only the clothes she can pack into her suitcase and nothing more.   She is looking for support to offset her expenditures for: airline travel, acquiring a car, repairing a car($2500 for transmission and other work, car registration, car insurance, purchasing household goods, assistance with education loans until she finds employment, health care insurance, travel within the U.S. searching for employment, airline travel to a weeklong educational program for missionaries in January in Colorado, and all the other expenses involved with reestablishing life in the U.S.

Thanks to you for all your support.
