Our sister, Megan Ploium, was recently diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma (LMS), a rare and aggressive cancer that arises from smooth muscle tissue found in hollow organs like the uterus, stomach, intestines, and blood vessels. Surgery to remove masses was performed on January 31. On February 13, chemotherapy began, as did her journey towards healing.
There will be 6 months of chemotherapy. The added challenges are known to many who have shared in the cancer experience: the loss of wages from work you are unable to perform, the lack of energy to take care of the home, the need to save energy for healing and time with loved ones. I know our sister is not just special to us, but to many who may call her by other names such as teacher, mentor, colleague, friend, daughter, cousin, niece, wife, and mom. Megan is many things to many people, loved for the care she freely gives and the investment she makes in the countless lives of others.
We (Megan's sisters) invite you to support Megan and her family (JJ and Juliann) with financial gifts that can help shoulder daily burdens and mounting medical bills. Please consider blessing Megan and her family with a donation today. Any gift is a huge blessing, and humbly accepted with deep gratitude.
Beyond financial support, we ask that you pray for Megan's complete healing. That she and her family are strengthened by our God who can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine in and throughout this next 6 months (and beyond). That Megan feels loved and encouraged along the way, and a peace that surpasses all understanding. And may the Ploiums know they are not alone! While they may feel struck down, they are not destroyed! We, their beloved community of friends and family, have their back!
