My cousin, Megan Miley Núñez, has been fighting a battle for over three years that would have broken most people. But if you know Megan, you know she has a strength and faith that continues to carry her through every setback. Now she finally has a chance at the miracle we’ve all been praying for — and we need your help to get her there.

A little over three years ago, Megan went in for what should have been a routine gallbladder removal. Instead, she suffered a catastrophic common bile duct injury that nearly took her life. Since that day, she has lived with a rare, life-altering condition that requires constant ERCP procedures, stent replacements every three months, hospital stays, complications, infections, and pain most of us can’t even imagine.

Megan has fought through all of this while still being an incredible mother to Judah and Asher, a loving wife to Yasi, and a light to everyone who knows her. She has held onto her faith, even when the road has felt impossibly long.

After years of praying, searching, and being turned away, Megan was finally accepted at Vanderbilt — the only place anywhere near Louisiana with the specialists capable of treating this kind of injury. This is the first real hope she’s had in a very long time.

But getting her there won’t be easy.

Because of the distance and the seriousness of her condition, she will need: Travel to and from Nashville, Several nights of lodging, Food and basic needs, Lost wages for her husband, Yasi, who must be with her, Childcare support,Co-pays, deductibles, and medical costs not covered by insurance, and Emergency funds for any complications
