My name is Jennifer and I am writing this on behalf of our family friend Megan. If you know me, then surely you have heard me talk about her or may have even met her. Our friendship spans well over 20 years, and she is the epitome of what a true friend is.

She is a mother of three wonderful daughters and married her childhood love, Emery. Her husband singlehandedly supports not only his family but also makes it possible for her to afford alternative routine treatments not covered by insurance.

Her condition is complex. A diagnosis of a genetic disorder known as Stickler syndrome (affecting the body's soft tissue) coupled with an autoimmune disease known as Crohn's Disease. Due to this combination, her body's ability to heal is severely compromised. For the better part of 15 years, she has been putting one foot in front of the other, trying to navigate her medical journey. There have been many medical setbacks throughout the years but also lots of hopeful alternative treatments.

Her ability to work is non-existent due to her symptoms. She is often in pain and discomfort, which prohibits her from participating in normal everyday life and tasks. These conditions have taken their toll not only physically and mentally but financially as well.

She has an opportunity to receive a treatment that could quite possibly put her into remission. Allowing her wounds to heal without having to have an extremely invasive surgery. This treatment requires her and her husband to travel to her specialist located in Florida, where she will have to stay and receive treatment for an undetermined amount of time. These treatments are estimated on the low end of $20,000. They have been saving and making financial moves to make this come to fruition. However, as time passes, her condition is not improving.

Megan would give you the shirt off her back. She would give you the last dollar in her wallet if you needed it.
