Miracles for Megan
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
August 15, 2016, my great-niece, Megan Walendzik, was involved in a horrific car accident. Megan is the daughter of my niece, Kelly Walendzik, and granddaughter to my sister, Christine Baughman Walendzik.
Megan has been in a coma since the accident and has a Traumatic Brain Injury. She has had multiple surgeries and in late April will have a titanium scalp implant done at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Megan has been to the DeVos Children's Hospital, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, St. Joe's Hospital, and University of Michigan Medical Center. She has also been placed in several nursing homes, but they are unable to care for her and continue to send her back to DeVos Children's Hospital. Sometimes Megan is transferred twice a week to a different facility. Kelly is Megan's sole support and has recently had to quit her job to care for her.
Hopefully, after Megan's surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center, she will be allowed to come home. Kelly's home must undergo some major modifications to be able to accept Megan. Although her medical expenses have mostly been covered by insurance, Kelly will incur many uncovered expenses during this process. Megan will also require round- the-clock skilled nursing care and will receive this in-home once she is able to return there. Kelly's other expenses include travel, lodging, etc. which causes more financial burden.
Hopefully, some of you can help our family. If so, we are very grateful. Please pray for Megan. We need a miracle. I hope she will open her eyes soon to kiss her mom and hug her grandparents.
Sincerely,
Craig Baughman
