My best friend, Megan Guerra, is facing an incredibly tough time and needs our support. Megan, a small business owner of a bicycle store in Los Angeles and a proud 1998 alumna of Good Counsel High School in Chicago, has been displaced by the recent fires in her area. She has had leave her apartment (just 5 miles from the fire line), her store is inundated with smoke, and her business partner is also displaced.
Imagine waking up one day and suddenly not being able to live in your home, go to work, or earn money. That’s the reality Megan is facing right now.
Megan is a passionate environmentalist, and one of the reasons she opened her bike shop was to promote sustainable transportation and environmental solutions in her community. However, December 2024 was a particularly tough month for her business, which struggled to perform. To make up for the financial shortfall, Megan had already started working for Uber Eats before the fires turned her life upside down.
Megan's bike shop wasn't just about selling, building, and repairing bikes, it was about making a difference. Now, as she pursues her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science at Santa Monica College, she's preparing for a future in public policy and government work to help others and continue to create meaningful change.
Megan has always been a pillar of support for others. When I was hospitalized for weeks, she flew across the country to be by my side, helping me through therapy and recovery when I needed it most. She’s a kind and dedicated animal lover, a hard-worker, and someone who always puts others first.
Now, Megan needs us. She is without income and struggling to make ends meet. We’re aiming to raise $10,000 to help Megan cover her living expenses, support her pets, and stabilize her life during this incredibly stressful time.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a big difference. Please share this message with your networks to help Megan rebuild and recover.
Thank you for helping someone who has always been there for others in their time of need.
