Megan's 2nd Liver Transplant Support

Welcome, and thank you for your time. My name is Courtney Toombs (Kemp) and I am raising funds for my 1st cousin, Megan Van Gaal (Fraser).

You may know already that Megan is the daughter of William and Lori Fraser, twin of Morgan Banks, and a wife to Ethan, but perhaps most important title she holds is "Mama" to her sweet little boy Theodore "Theo" (21 months old). I have been told I am the "triplet" of the twins, and here is a quick overview of her story below...

Megan turned 30 years old in February, and although young at age, unfortunately this is not Megan's first round of medical concerns. Megan had her 1st Liver Transplant at the age of 22, in 2016.

March 2024, Megan is officially on the list for a 2nd time, needing another Liver Transplant. This was the devastating news came after falling ill again in July after searching for answers back and forth from PEI to Halifax, with countless tests, and hospital stays for her, her twin and husband.

Unfortunately, due to her illness Megan is unable to work or continue her studies for now. Megan is waiting for a call for her new liver, which could happen at anytime, and as expected is very unwell and unable to work.

Megan has recently gone back to work after her maternity leave and does not qualify for a sick leave due to this financial support. I hope with this GoFundMe we can ease her mind to rest and not have to worry about working during this time, and for her RECOVERY time after her transplant for her, and her young family.

Megan's diagnosis include; Mixed connective tissue disease, chronic vomiting syndrome, primary sclerosing cholangitis (causing a liver transplant in 2016 at 22 years of age), Crohn's disease, a bowel resection and ileostomy and its reversal as an infant causing her to only have approx. 30% of her lower bowel remaining, and more.

Megan continues to live her life with the stubborn attitude she was gifted and perseveres to live a "normal" life trying daily to better herself for her family and young son. Join me in eliminating this pressure moving forward for her wait for a 2nd transplant and recovery time.
