Megan and Casey have long been an integral part of many people’s healing and well-being. Megan is a critical care nurse at Children’s Hospital, while also pursuing a nurse practitioner degree. Her husband Casey is a dedicated firefighter for The City of Lafayette.
Megan and Casey also have 2 daughters along with a precious grandbaby that was just born a week ago. Unfortunately, heartbreaking news came in Aug of 2022. Megan was diagnosed with stage 4 bile duct cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy since Oct of 2022. The treatments are getting more and more difficult, and she is struggling to manage her nausea and discomfort, making everyday tasks a challenge.
What many people don’t know about them is that not only are they giving to their communities, but Megan and Casey are also full-time caregivers to their aging parents that live with them.
With Megan in and out of the hospital for appointments and complications, Casey has been tasked with helping out around the house in many more ways, while Megan is in the fight for her life.
But today, more than ever, Megan and Casey need our help. We are humbly asking for your help in supporting Megan and Casey, and their family, during this enormously difficult time. We hope to raise enough money that will provide some help to Casey and Megan in the months to come. We plan to provide some in-home services through Visiting Angles, which will assist the family and ensure they are well taken care of. This will allow Casey to focus his time and energy on making sure Megan has all she needs and allow them to spend much-needed time together.
Please share this GoFundMe far and wide. Any donation makes a difference.
