Megan, we've got your back!

We're doing it a little differently this time because Megan wants to give back. GIFTS FOR DONATIONS! Please read on...
By now most of you know about my daughter Megan's struggles with the painful and debilitating disease Adhesive Arachnoiditis, along with the myriad peripheral health issues and financial burdens it has produced along the way. It halted her career and diminished her overall quality of life! It all began on a beautiful Spring day in 2019. She and her family were hit by a car that had run a red light, T-boning Megan on the passenger side, and changing her life forever. But there is new and exciting hope! Through an Adhesive Arachnoiditis support group, Megan found a doctor in Arizona who says she has a protocol for this ailment specifically! But here’s the catch: the procedure is experimental and unproven, thus not covered by insurance.
This treatment generally has an 80% success rate of pain relief. But since there isn’t enough research yet to be proven, Megan will have to pay out of pocket. The procedure itself--including consults--is $9,000. She then has the opportunity of undergoing multiple hyperbaric oxygen treatments, which are $200 per visit, for optimal success with the stem cells. The expenses continue to add up with flights, including first class for herself because she simply cannot sit straight up in an airplane seat for several hours without immense pain, flight disasters that lead to about twice as much cost for plane tickets than originally paid, hotel expenses, rental car, a month of recovery where Zach will have to mostly work from home to take care of Sedona, followed by two months of physical therapy to get what Megan’s surgeon described as “frozen muscles and joints” back into working shape. Those latter two months are going to be particularly painful and Zach will need to assess--as they go--just how much he can leave Megan alone with Sedona.
We all know of Megan’s physical woes, but behind the scenes is a lot more intense than she lets on. While Megan enjoys sharing her pain journey, she also tends to smile through the hardest times and sometimes doesn’t truly show just how much she’s struggling. When Megan told Zach she was considering a stem cell procedure for a mere chance at pain relief he started googling and the first thing he saw was possible blindness. When he informed Megan of this she responded, “It doesn’t matter. I have to try it. I can’t live this way.” When they researched further and saw two people had died from this procedure Megan said, “It doesn’t matter. I have to try it. I can’t live this way.” If this doesn’t drive home just how much she is suffering, I don’t know what will.
So ultimately, Megan decided that no matter what, she would be taking this route as a possible cure for, or at least the possible stopping the progression of, an otherwise incurable, progressive, and life-shattering disease. This is going to be a massive journey back to recovery for the whole family, and we all know just how much people love the musical Moats family and know how they give to charity when they’re able. In fact, they are already planning on giving back to their fan base with performances, gifts, and merch in an incentivized-style based on the sizes of your contributions (details below).
Performing live and touring with her husband and their band is not only Megan’s profession... it’s her passion. Please give what you can and help Megan's BACK get BACK on stage! But more importantly, get her out of pain. Thank you in advance. We love you all!!!
Now, for the Dharma gifts! As soon as Megan heals, The Dharma Initiative will collaborate with Good Vibes Music Venue in Newport News for the “reverse fundraiser”. Since she was not well enough to put on a show before her procedure, we’re doing this backwards. Donations here will count as entry to the show, plus additional gifts listed below! If you live out of town we will stream the show with you on the exclusive guest list for the stream!
