This year has been very rough for Megan. Her beloved fur baby Mya was very sick and she did everything in her power to help her, but unfortunately Mya passed away on January 18th. Within days, on January 24th, Megan found herself in the battle for her own life when she had COVID symptoms and her oxygen levels dropped significantly. She went to the hospital by ambulance and was placed on a ventilator that night fighting COVID pneumonia. Throughout the last several weeks Megan has been fighting strong and has gone from being in an induced coma/paralysis to waking up and whispering to her mom. She is currently on a ventilator through a trach and is learning to speak and eat with it. She is doing amazing and has shown the strength of a fighter we all know her to be, but she has a long ways to go. She is very weak and will need to regain lung and physical strength. She is currently in the hospital still, awaiting transfer to an acute care rehab facility where she will remain for some time. Her mom Karen visits her daily, and is trying to figure out and take care of all of her finances. In the interim of getting disability started, we ask for assistance to help pay for Megan's expenses- Car payment, vet bill for Mya, medical insurance and other bills. Anything we can do to ease Megan and Karens stress will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Melissa Laff
