Hello, my name is Megan, and I am fundraising to register with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
It is essential for me to register with the OCSWSSW because it lends credibility to my education and community service. In Ontario, to use the titles "Social Service Worker" or "Registered Social Service Worker," you must be registered with the College.
Like many families, the past couple of years have been financially challenging. My husband is on a medical leave of absence, and I am working two jobs, plus some consulting work, in order to make ends meet. We simply do not have the extra funds to pay for the registration fees that would allow me to become a Registered Social Service Worker.
I am a graduate of the Social Service Worker program at Conestoga College. I graduated with a 96.1% overall average and received the President's Honour Roll award for having the highest average in our cohort. I did this while raising my three kids, supporting my husband, and volunteering in my community.
My ultimate goal is to raise $550. This money will cover the cost of acquiring a vulnerable sector check (police check) and the registration fees for the OCSWSSW.
