Megan Lusk's Memorial Fund

Four weeks ago today we lost our beautiful Megan!I still can't honestly believe she is gone and I am still going on auto pilot. Many people have suggested a go fund me to help with expenses and I have put it off as I am one to give help more than one to ask for help. Unfortunately Megan was not working , had no life insurance or savings, though so all expenses are the responsibility of her Dad and I. So many have already given in the way of money, flowers, meals and prayers ! Megan was my third child and second daughter and her spot in this family and the joy she brought will never be filled. We are raising money to help cover the rest of her funeral costs as well as the gravemarker we still need to decide on. I know many wonder what happened when someone so young dies and I want to share her story.
Megan was diagnosed with Asthma when she was two and because of that spent a lot of time in hospitals being poked and prodded, she hated needles and would scream and cry when ever she had to have blood drawn. As a mom I would say well at least I will never have to worry about her doing drugs that would require shooting up. I was so wrong . She was introduced to drugs through a boyfriend in Colorado and as they were living together none of us saw the signs at first but eventually you can't hide them. When covid hit and we moved her to Florida she had already broken up with this person and was working on getting her life back in order. She had been clean for a year but at some point in the last few months had started using again. We still don't know for sure what killed her and won't for awhile due to lab backups. I wish I had paid more attention to the signs that she might be using again but I didn't and now I won't get a second chance. If my story can help one other mother step out and save their child I will share it. If we raise more than we need any extra will go to a drug rehab program. Thank you in advance and may you never have to feel the pain of losing a child.
