Hi, my name is Michelle Emmons and I'm fundraising for my daughter Megan (pictured here in the hospital) who was mowed down in a crosswalk by an uninsured, unlicensed motorist in Portland, OR. After being dragged through the intersection 10-15ft. she was transported by ambulance to the emergency room for multiple lacerations, an open fracture of the fibula, cracked tib, and a head concussion. The offending unlicensed/uninsured motorist was let go without a citation leaving Megan on the hook for medical bills and living expenses, which she cannot pay because she is out of work now for eight weeks, trying to recover from this accident without any recourse due to the police officer's lack of action.

While we are looking into various options to bring this situation to justice, Megan still needs to eat, pay rent, and a large medical deductible not covered by her meager health insurance plan.

While her dad and I can help some, we're hoping to raise enough here to help pay us off the medical deductible and rent for two months, so Megan can focus on her recovery without the added stress of feeling like a financial burden on friends and family.
