Megan Johnston's Brain Surgery Fund
Donation protected
I’m sure if you’re reading this, you know and love Megan dearly. Over the past couple months Megan has been in and out of the Kelowna General Hospital for 2 Craniotomies due to a tumour in the centre of her brain.
On Jan 21st 2024, following a couple months of growing migraines, ocular visions and incredible pain, Megan was admitted into the ICU. After various trips to urgent care she was sent to the ER for a CT scan which revealed a tumour in the middle of her brain. Doctors promptly sent her for her first operation to get a drain installed to relieve built up spinal fluid causing the pain and tension. On Jan, 23 she went for her first Craniotomy where they removed as much of the mass as possible. Due to the tumour closely resembling the brain, the safest option was to remove as much as they were confident in, leaving around 50%. Her surgery went well but after a month of recovery she was admitted again with the same build up of fluid and presenting symptoms. On Feb 28th Megan went in for her second brain surgery, this one going incredibly well where they removed 90-95% of the mass. She is now home resting, as we wait for further information about steps forward.
In creating this go fund me we are asking for your assistance in supporting Megan’s living costs. She has been off since January and will be missing wages for about a four month period. For now, our goal is to raise the same amount money Megan would have made if she was working her regular schedule.
Megan is resilient, strong, and can be stubborn with accepting help. We ask that, if it is within your means, to help her with living costs and lost wages through these times. If not, please keep positive thoughts for Megan for a full, speedy recovery.
