Megan Eileen Due To Loss of Life Partner
Donation protected
My name is Nicole, and I am facilitating this gofund me on behalf of my friend Megan Eileen in Santa Cruz, California.
UPDATE: October 1 Megan is facing eviction. Please read on.
Megan's life partner of 22 years Steve Laine passed away suddenly and tragically on May 11th, leaving Megan without her support structure and income.
Megan was Steve’s personal assistant, and during the last year and a half, Megan underwent preventative cancer surgery, and Steve was her caregiver. Unfortunately, Megan is facing another preventative cancer surgery right now. Luckily she has medical insurance, but she has no one to care for her after the surgery.
Now Megan has to move out of her current place where she and Steve lived together for ten years because she cannot afford the rent. Having to move and navigating the sudden death of Steve have left Megan devastated, which is further stressed due to having no money for moving expenses and this month’s rent.
Megan has borrowed money from friends and family to keep a roof over her head ($1,900 per month for five months - almost 12K) while she looks for a new much smaller place to live.
Megan has not even had time to grieve the loss of Steve.
Megan wants to get back on her feet to help others, as that was her original career, helping Senior Citizens in the community as a case manager. Her goal is to complete a new certification to help other groups of people who are struggling.
Meeko, her and Steve’s dog, had to be fostered because of Megan’s medical issues and dealing with the loss of Steve.
If each of you can even help with $10 it would go a long way to help Megan pay back her friends and family, who have lent her almost $12,000 for rent. Megan also needs help with utility bills, medical copays and moving expenses.
Megan has not even had a chance to think about the upcoming costs of Steve’s memorial; that is another topic.
Megan is truly grateful to all of you, hoping the Universe will give back for her immediate concerns.
