If you’ve met Megan, you know how utterly delightful she is. The whimsical, thoughtful, and loving way she navigates the world is complemented by her fierce New York City edge (which comes out when it needs to). For those of you who haven’t met her, Megan cherishes the details of living, enjoys the coziness of surviving winter, loves people, and reflects each night on the incredible privilege of being alive. She is completely unique.
Last month, after weeks of agonizing pain, an MRI revealed a mass in her brain. The doctor advised her to go straight to the ER. After a few days spent in the hospital, Megan underwent brain surgery to remove the mass. A week or so later, she was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiform (GBM), the most aggressive and dangerous form of brain cancer.
Amidst the whirlwind of appointments and phone calls, the question of finances has been ever-present. With half of her eyesight gone and an intense cancer treatment about to start, Megan is unable to work. With her medical team starting treatment here in Chicago, we’re asking for financial help to allow her to stay in Chicago and afford to fight her cancer. This will help provide short-term rental assistance and will cover a portion of her medical bills from surgery and ongoing treatment. We can't magically take away her cancer, but we can take away some of the financial stress that she's beginning to experience. Please consider donating what you can. She is so dear to us.
