Help Megan and Cameron Save Their House
Donation protected
When it rains it pours. This classic cliche is unfortunately true for my sister and brother-in-law in more ways than one. Most recently, heavy rain lead to a landslide at their home. This is their first home and they’ve only lived there for about 2 years. Unfortunately now the house is uninhabitable as the landslide took out their sewage line. They have had to move out of their home due to this. The repair to the sewage line and to the 13 foot drop at the back of their yard will be extremely costly, upwards of $100,000. Landslides are so common in this area but are not covered by homeowners insurance.
But other than this actual pouring of rain causing financial strain, there have been a multitude of unfortunate circumstances also causing financial stress. Cameron spent last year battling a rare cancer called Merkel Cell Carcinoma. He currently is cancer free, but he is not out of the woods yet as he has a relatively high recurrence risk. They have also have suffered through the loss of two pregnancies, one of which was a late loss at 20 weeks. If the pain of losing her baby wasn’t enough, this late pregnancy loss was just one week before our father passed away. They have since been pursuing IVF to start a family which was necessary due to Cameron’s cancer diagnosis and treatments. Both cancer treatments and IVF are costly for this young couple. Now, unfortunately for them they have had to put this dream of a baby on hold until they sort out the situation with their house. Megan and Cameron are just a young couple with a dream of a home and family and unfortunately that has been derailed for them.
It takes special people to deal with repeatedly being dealt a bad hand in life, and Megan and Cameron are truly special. This is extremely difficult for them and they have had so much strength to carry on in the face of these struggles. They certainly deserve a break and any support that can be provided to help them save their house would be much appreciated. With any donation, advice, or prayers, we truly thank you for giving them a chance.
